Empowering Seniors has been in the Northeast Tarrant County community for over 12 years. It first started as a Health and Wellness Expo for 300 in 2009 that grew to 3,000 attendees in 2019. This event has evolved into several smaller, more focused events considering health and safety. These initiatives involve the need for volunteers who help serve our senior community and enable us to provide them with vital information and services to better their well-being. Volunteer assignments times are flexible. Most run from one to three hours and can involve distributing materials, helping with registration, seating, and many other areas at Wellness Seminars or other outreach initiatives. Many volunteers have said working with our seniors has been one of the most rewarding assignments.

Donate Image

At each of our gatherings, whether in person or online, we offer an opportunity for attendees to win a door prize. Many seniors live on a limited income, not allowing for purchasing frivolous items. These door prizes fill that gap with something special for them to take home. Their donation is where our door prize donors shine! They donate special items like gift baskets, individual items, gift cards, and more! You get recognized for your contribution at the event or online as a friend of Empowering Seniors.

Empowering Seniors has evolved from a one-day event to several smaller yet more focused Wellness Seminars and other outreach initiatives in consideration of health and safety. We can address timely senior-related topics presented by professionals at our Wellness Seminars through our partnerships with sponsors. Our target audience consists of caregivers, seniors, and seniors-to-be (age 50+) who may be caring for their parents or loved ones. They also realize that they might be receiving some of these services in the future.
